Building Capacity for Research Ethics: Policy Insights For Nepal

Knowledge and skills in research ethics are essential for conducting ethically responsible research. Despite some local policies, strategic guidelines, manuals on the antithesis of misconduct, researchers’ adherence to ethics, especially conduct research, is still critical developing countries like Nepal. This study explores policy provisions develop capacity With aim, we identified ten key documents related from University Grants Commission (UGC), Nepal Health Research Council (NHRC), Ministry Education, Science Technology (MoEST). We analysed using adapted version Cooke’s framework development. The result shows that although there development scientific none provisioned higher education institutions need take action early career ethics. Further, this review depicts several structural, institutional, procedural limitations make condition difficult adopt implement those manuals.
